BEHIND THE SCENE: UNTITLED 11:11 SPRING 2010 COLLECTION

Fashion week is my favorite time of the year. This season I had the pleasure to work for David Peck and Laurel Anderson's line Untitled 11:11, Claudia Lake was keying the show. The spring collection was presented at the Axelle Gallery.

I love going over to Marie's studio in Brooklyn! Whenever I'm there I always have a fun time. I posted an entry on her re-worked vintage business "Funky Lobes" not too long ago. I adore her accessory and her funky pieces

ARE YOU READY FOR FASHION WEEK?

Is that time of the year again New Yorkers. Today is the first day of Fashion Week! Reportedly, it will be its final run at Bryant Park before moving to a park in Lincoln center further uptown in 2010. The twice-annual event promises a week of spectacular soirees at the tents. Designers will present their spring collections and style-conscious celebrities will be photographed sitting in the front rows next to top magazine editors as the fashion world looks on. You can be there in the mist of it all, just make sure to be on the guest list!




"FASHION NIGHT OUT is a night that celebrates fashion with a global initiative designed to promote retail and restore consumer confidence. Aside from some of the lovely festivities going on, a Fashion's Night Out T-shirt is available with 40% of proceeds being donated to the National September 11 Memorial & Museum. A city-wide Clothing Drive is also occurring where donated clothing will be given to the NYC AIDS Fund."

IT'S ALL ABOUT THE SHOULDER

YES! The 1980's shoulder look is back. They have gone pandemic, it's bananas! Topshop has it, H&M has it, you can see it on the models of the runway. Isn't it fabulous how much sharpening up pads can do, if done well it looks breath taking, it will accentuate your waist, who doesn't love that!?

Seriously, these ear headbands are so freaking adorable! I'm not sure if I would wear them on a daily basis, but definitely on my daring days I could see myself sporting a pair...ooh maybe on Halloween!

BEHIND THE SCENES, MERCURA SUNGLASSES SHOOT

I had a great time shooting with my friend photographer Nigel. And, HELLO, did you take a look at the Mercura Sunglasses? They are super dope. I love every one of them. So here are some behind the scenes pics I took, just wanted to share with you guys.

I prep the model first by toning her face and moisturizing it. She did not need much coverage, I just used a tiny bit of cream foundation and mixed it with a little bit of water.



Sometimes I make my own lipsticks colors. It's 1,2,3 simple! Just mixed lip gloss+eyeshadow or different shades of lipsticks.

Q: Hi I found your blog through your chictopia, great clothes btw and your make up website is amazing, very talented. I love statement lips too but for some reason they just don’t seem to look right on me. I recently bought Nars Jungle Red as I’m mad about poppy red it’s gorgeous but I feel something’s not right with it, I’m dark skinned (African) like a Jourdan Dunn type colour so brights normally suit me in clothes but this looks a bit off my mum said I look like something from the black and white minstrel show, HELP!! Please could you recommend some bright colours that wouldn’t have this effect or do you think it could be the way I apply it, I don’t use lip liner because I don’t know how etc etc please help.. thank you .. sorry i wasn’t too sure where to post this.
